Consequently, we can attest to the fact that we are fully aware of the fact that all of our reports MUST meet the qualifications of an Expert Witness under the Criminal Procedure Rules or Civil Procedure Rules, as appropriate, and must always adhere to those requirements.
Therefore, both in the report writing process and the giving of evidence, we make sure that the viewpoint given is a balanced and objective one based on the available facts. We are there to assist the Court and not attempt to alter the facts to suit a desired outcome.
It is for this reason that our evidence is frequently accepted, sometimes even unchallenged, by the court or at Public Inquiry, and is used in the summing up and in the judgement of the case.
